Popcorn Kisses..

So I'm sitting with some unused birthday gifts and I come across this little jar of goodness. I always pop into the Lush store at V & A just to try the heavenly lotions and potions and always end up spending waaay too much time getting lost inside.
I'm a lip picker, especially during the colder months as it tends to get much drier than usual, and I also discovered that when I change my lipsticks my lips peel quite a bit before settling. I tried this scrub and I must say, my lips do feel somewhat smoother after the first time. I did spend more time licking my fingers and lips as the popcorn flavour is just so delish...mmmmm! It has coconut and jojoba oils for the softening, and is made of castor sugar and sea salt, so it makes for a yummy beauty treat to apply while watching a cute girly movie on a night in. They stock more flavours like candy floss so you can decide what your taste buds prefer.. It's a bit pricey, about R100 a pop, as opposed to regular lip balms like the Labello range which I also adore especially the strawberry Vitamin E. It's a great softner and has a light pink colour for when your lipstick is not at hand..😍😍

Love your luscious sweet lippies..😘

TRIED AND TESTED..

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - The consistency lends itself towards a luminous almost dewy finish and is perfect for daily use. I found it to be an easy application which I apply with my finger tips as it would get soaked up if using a blender sponge. You save on product doing it this way as it is quite decadent in price as all Chanel products are. Make sure your hands are squeaky clean and I always stress about clean hands before applying make up as I use my fingertips a lot instead of brushes wherever I can. I use colour 40 beige as I have a fair to medium complexion and it melts away like a second skin leaving a natural healthy glow. I finish up using a mineral bronzer and that's my canvas to start painting away.

That's my Tuesday review and tips..awesome day loves ♥️♥️

Tropical Tuesday..

I've been seeing a lot of posts about coconuts and all it's beauty and health benefits lately. From rich indulgent coconut water drinks to the coconut oil in particular. Now for me there's nothing new about it because it's one of those remedy oils every household generally has lying around somewhere. I like using natural beauty treatments wherever possible as it's au natural and affordable at times when your beauty budget isn't very forgiving.
The oil is a rich, deeply nourishing consistency which is great to apply liberally after a hot shower or bath especially during winter when you tend to be a lot more dryer than usual. It's very hydrating and softens the skin all over.
It's also great for giving your misbehaved tresses some extra deep conditioning and leaves a lovely shine and fragrance which can have you thinking you're on an island in the Bahamas somewhere. I'm all for that bit of daydreaming.
It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits which is always a huge plus factor.
I personally wouldn't use too much in summer as it's does leave quite an oily residue which can be a bit uncomfortable during the hotter African heat waves and may also affect your sunscreen and UV protection.

So there you have some simple Tuesday tips..Indulge a bit and kick your hydrated feet up..make yourself a piña colada and pretend to enjoy the island breeze🌴🌴☀️🍹

Remember to DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU..xx

Hair today..gone tomorrow

It may not be the ideal topic for a Monday or any other day for that matter, but I do like to equip my beauty 'buds' with enough information to make the best possible choices. And seeing that I'm a little under the weather today, it's the perfect time to slow down and catch up on some much needed rest, reading and writing.
Ok, so today we talking hair removal. I'ts one of the those topics you just don't want to think about, but always comes up at the oddest times like..over tea and cupcakes or most girly get togethers. It's obviously an important topic and always on the to-do list. I'm lucky in that I'm not very hairy and so I tend to take care of my little bits about once every three weeks or so. I have my wonderful mom to thank for that gene pool. Thanks mom..❤️
There are so many options available to us for our delicate underarms, bikini area and legs like waxing, threading, creaming, shaving etc..so it's BEST TO DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU..which is MY MOTO through LIFE, LOVE and all my beauty regimes.
I've been dabbling with the idea of going for permanent laser hair removal treatment and just figured it's barely there, it might as well just disappear all together.
After a hundred and one questions to a few close girlfriends (yes I do get like that when anxiety sets in), I finally mustered up the courage.
Having a consultation the day before with my therapist Meenakshi at M Beauty Parlour, made it much easier. If you like me, make sure you do this just to clarify all you need to know beforehand.
The treatment must have taken about 30 minutes in total. I loved the oversized black super-sunglasses you're made to wear as it protects the eyes, and I was tempted at one point to take a shameless selfie to laugh about it all later.
It was tingly in certain places but all in all, a quick simple pain free way of getting rid of unwanted hair and promising to keep you smooth as a baby's bottom. It is a bit pricier than other treatments but if you consider that it's once off and then just monthly maintenance top ups should you even require it, depending on individual hair growth, until it's completely gone. Waxing and other methods have you going back every two or so weeks and the costs do add up. It's one of those treatments that if you able to, I recommend that you invest in. It will save you in the long beauty run and open up spare rands and dollars to splash on something delicious.
Happy Monday babies..
