Here comes the sun..

When it comes to sunblock, there are no shortcuts. The harsh African sun is not to be messed with so it's best to load up on your sunblock and reapply continuously if you out frolicking in the sun. I remember as a child having sunburn and it's just the worst thing ever as it puts a dull grey spell on the rest of the holiday. Not to mention that painful sting when someone taps you on the back to ask you something awefully stupid! 

Basic sun protection should include nothing less than a 30 SPF in my books. Most moisturisers have SPF's which is great so your face is covered, and there's less chance of spooky white face as it absorbs with your daily application. I definitely prefer a body spray to a lotion as it's less messy, easier to apply, and because I don't like greasy hands on the beach.

Reapply after swimming and make sure you use a after-sun body lotion to protect and nourish your skin after spending a sunny time outside. 

Take care on the beaches and top your look with a fabulous hat and chic sunglasses because you're that kind of girl.

The one that I want..No.5

I've got chills and they definitley multiplying. The Chanel No.5 perfume campaign launched a couple of weeks ago and stars the new face of Chanel, the super gorgeous Gisele Bundchen.

It's a bittersweet love story that unfolds and the passion depicted is just so intense from start to finish. I'm a huge No.5 fan and this breath of fresh air was just what this classic needed. It's breathtaking, it's mesmerizing and epitomizes the grace and signature of the brand.

Festive cheers..

Summer holidays always gets me in a happy place as I dream of of days spent on the beach with good friends, great books and lots of yummy food. It's also wedding season so plenty of opportunities to play dress up.

My make-up routine goes into laid back mode as I prefer to keep a simple look for day time as it's just too hot for anything else.

CREATE A CHIC SUMMER LOOK

Nude lips and eyes are hot off the runway and perfect for our deliciously hot summer days. Keep it easy and fresh looking and it will have you looking like a sleek Summer goddess.

Prime and apply a light sheer foundation - Le Blanc De Chanel multi-use illuminator is my ultimate fave right now. Described as ingenius, the results are pretty amazing and creates a natural radiant finish to your look. **NB** It will pop your selfie to magical perfection.

Use blush tones or natural colors and brush all over your lids.

Sweep the crease with one shade darker and blend it all out.

Apply a soft brown liner on top of your lids and halfway around the bottom. I prefer to blend my liner so that it fades and creates a smoky look. 

Line the bottom of your inner lid with a white liner and pop your inner eyes with a light shimmer. 

Load up on the mascara and don't be shy to apply more than one coat. Make sure you comb it through so that no clumps are left on your lashes. Remove excess mascara against the sides of the container before applying, to prevent lumpy lashes.

Sweep your cheeks with a bronzer instead of blush to get that golden glow.

And lastly, seal your kiss with a nude lip stain and clear lipgloss.

That's your chic simple summer look.
