New year..new ME..new YOU

It's a brand new year, mid Jan..and the festive season with all it's sparkles seem but a distant memory. I've officially just settled down to doing some work, and also been reflecting on the past year as this generally is the time one does that sort of thing. I'm once again inspired to share my two cents worth of what's hot and in my opinion what's not!
Ok so I know couture is deliciously avant garde and in my opinion..'the nothing that I can wear look' still I had a sneek peek. Fresh from couture week in Paris, Chanel opted for two looks, one being barely there make up with sleek hair, the other completely over the top 'I DONTCARE...MESSY HAIR' Hairstylist Sam McKnight achieved this using bushy hair bands or as we know them..Alice bands matching each models hair. Make up artist Peter Phillips opted for matte faces with big brows and played on the eyes creating a winged lid and glittered lower lid. I say don't overthink just embrace and interpret the looks so that it suits you and your lifestyle, if that's at all possible.
Apart from the fantasy looks some designers like Dior opted for a very wearable look combining sheer faces with scarlet lips..I love❤️❤️❤️
Happiness is you loving YOU..
Fabulous Wednesday all

A bit of french chic..Dubai style

As part of the fabulous Dubai Shopping Festival, Blake Lively finally made her grand appearance at the Gucci Premiere inside Galeries Lafayette in Dubai Mall. Chaos reigned as fans and shoppers who had been kept waiting for more than an hour, mobbed the impeccably stylish star while she made her way down the red carpet. I was in awe of her grace and beauty, but gobsmacked at the madness that engulfed the event. The absolute horror at seeing the latest Nina Ricci pumps and bags being trampled as fans jumped on display tables to get better views and pictures became mildly entertaining after a while. I couldn't watch any longer and besides, I needed to get back to the business of shopping myself..when in Dubai!!
Happy 2014..to bigger and better dreams♥♥♥
You know you love me..

With lipstick and lashes..I'm still a child of Africa

It seems I've been at a loss for words recently and wasn't sure whether what I wanted to say or needed to say could live up to what was being said about Madiba. I think we as South Aficans all have our own personal stories of the struggle, I know I have mine, but I've chosen to forgive and lay it to rest with all the other significant pains in my life. I pray we never experience the humiliation of Apartheid ever again, and learn the true essence of love and forgiveness. We remain a nation in mourning for the the loss of our dear Madiba. Rest in peace Nelson Mandela and may your spirit live on in all of us..❤️❤️

Stylish weekend..

If you didn't make it to the StyleSociety pop up Boutique at the V&A Hotel this weekend, you missed out on a real treat. Hosted by the fabulous Kumari Govender who knows exactly how to throw a pop up soiree as it was the perfect amount of style and glam for one space. On trend and stylish designs, bags, jewellery and my best..the Turban Styling. The Estee Lauder glam squad was also on hand doing make overs if you needed to indulge a bit more. Being a 'bag lady' myself,  I fell totally in love with Rock&Herr, a luxury leather handbag range fully home grown. Impeccable styling and detailing and just some good old fashioned class.
Happy Monday my sweets..

Dreamy JT one love..

Another pop in at the JT one stand alone pop-up store at V & A today. We were in the neighbourhood and one can't not go inside. Q was in lingerie heaven as you can see. Worth the visit as its a better selection than what's inside the Woolies store I must say. Sad that they only have a two month stay, depending on sales I suppose. If you love pretty colours delicate fabrics, I mean who doesn't. .its well worth it and it doesn't break the bank either. A fun store with a youthful appeal and warm friendly staff made shopping such a pleasure.
Always JT love. .

A little bit of House and Leisure fun..

So excited to attend the House and Leisure night market after reading about the successful Jhb event. Such a beautiful summer's evening spent milling around Wembley Square checking out the most amazing mix of goodies on offer. Interesting jewellery pieces to gorgeous scarves and the most adorable baby clothes. Creative home decor and designs and a colourful selection of food and so much more. Bubbly teas, delectable chocolate desserts and my ultimate indulgence..Macarons..from Cassis. I did a royal job of squashing them in my bag as I made space for the freshly baked olive bread sticks that caught my attention while in polite conversation. Regardless, they were still delicious..squishy and all. Overall a very relaxing vibe and of course, beautiful Cape Town designer crowd. I'm looking forward to the next one already.
Night night birds. .

This silly season Miss Bloom loves..

As the hotter days start arriving..ok I'm not exactly sure when that is seeing it's been a roller coaster of all seasons thus far, I start making lists of all the sparkly things I want for the silly season. On my list so far is the delicious Chanel Hydra Beauty Essence Mist, a refreshing spray that can be used throughout the day to revitalize and refresh your skin adding moisturizing doses of Vitamin C and E. Keep in your handbag to use when needed or when you just want to indulge in a bit of sheer Chanel luxury..❤️
Much love
